Have there been times in your life when you walked in the darkness of hatred and criticism from people? Jesus is our lighthouse of love. He not only is the light of the world, He is the light of our hearts. Just this morning, I received a critical and sarcastic email from someone. My heart was starting to get dark with despair so I ran into His arms of understanding and love.
We need to realize that we can’t please everyone all the time. We should strive to please Jesus. We won’t please Him all the time because we are human, but He knows our hearts and He knows if we love Him, or if we are just doing lip service to Him. Our goal in life should be to make Him happy. He deserves to be happy after all He has done for us and continues to do for us every day.
May God forgive us if we have caused darkness in the hearts of our loved ones and friends by our critical words and the way we have treated them. Our lives should reflect the light of the love of Jesus to people. When people look at us, they should see the light of Jesus beaming brightly from our smiles and actions to them.
If you are walking in the darkness of sin today, give your heart to Jesus and He will put His Lighthouse of Love in your heart. You will have a peace and joy that you have never known in your life. Allow Jesus to illuminate your heart with His light of love, hope and understanding.
