LIVING OR DEAD

“I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

Romans 12: 1 King James Version

This verse tells us that we are to present our bodies a living sacrifice but many times we have a frown instead of a smile on our face. It also tells us that it is our reasonable service. After all that Jesus has done for us, it’s the least we can do for Him.

Many times our hearts are broken and we are carrying heavy burdens and it is very difficult to smile at someone. Yet, if we want to show others the joy that Jesus can give a person, then we need to smile. We may not be able to smile for a long time, but we can smile for just a minute.

When Jesus was here on earth, I know that He smiled at people. I’m sure that He picked up the children and hugged them. Today, He picks us up from the brokenness of our lives and hugs us with His Love. He takes the despair and gloom from our hearts and replaces them with His Joy and Peace.

It is not acceptable to God for us to go around with a scowl on our face all the time. There is a saying “Fake it until you make it”. Many times we do this very thing. We force a smile to our face, but our hearts are full of anger and hurt. Our smiles need to be genuine so we must allow Jesus to keep our hearts in tune.

If you are finding it hard to smile, go to Jesus and allow Him to apply His Healing Salve to your heart. You will have a Peace that only comes through His Grace and Mercy. He will give you a smile that comes from your heart.
