MAY GOD FORGIVE US

Every time I read this beautiful passage about the birth of Jesus, my heart overflows with joy because this was the beginning of love. This is my favorite passage of scripture in the entire Bible because it gives us love, joy, peace and hope. Without Jesus there is no reason to live because without Him everything is meaningless. He is our life! He is our joy and He is our peace and hope!

I was reading a book and the author made this statement “Sometimes I tire of Christmas after celebrating sixty-three of them. Christmas is for children”. When I read what this author said, I closed the book and put it in the garbage. My heart broke because what he said was an insult to my dearest and best friend, Jesus. When he made that statement, he pounded another nail into the heart of Jesus. In reality he was saying that he gets tired of Jesus. It is impossible to separate Jesus from Christmas because Jesus is Christmas.

Christmas is not just for children; Christmas is a celebration and birthday party for Jesus. Every day of our lives should be filled with the love, joy, peace and hope that was born into the world on that miraculous day. How sad that we stop singing the beautiful songs of Christmas. I sing them all year long because He lives in my heart and He is so precious to me. May God forgive us if we have ever said “I’m tired of Christmas and can’t wait until it is over”!
