I visited a web site yesterday and there was a message posted there by the owner. The message said, "I don’t necessarily agree with or endorse the web rings that I have joined."
If we are a member of a group and do not approve of all the things that they do, just by being a member we are just as guilty even if we say that we don’t agree. If we are employed at a job which compromises the Word of God, then we are not serving Jesus.
Jesus said the first thing we need to do is to come to Him with humility in our heart. How many times do you and I go to Jesus and demand that He answer our prayers according to our plans? We may have unconfessed sin in our life so we need to tell Him that we are sorry and ask Him to forgive us before we ask Him for anything.
He also says that we are to turn from our wicked ways. When we tell Him we are sorry for something and continue to do that thing for which we have asked Him to forgive us, He is not going to hear us.
We are praying for God to bless America. He can not bless us until we; the ones who have said yes to Jesus and then turned our back on Him, stop serving the world and start serving Him. We blame the government, the politicians, local officials, and those in authority for what is wrong in our country. Yet, God says that it is not their fault. It is our fault for walking away from our commitment to Him.
We need to acknowledge our sins to Him, then stop doing them, and once more serve Jesus. Only then, will He hear our prayers and heal our land.
Have you ever made a commitment to Jesus and then turned away from following Him? The Bible clearly states that if we have done that, then we are a hindrance to Him healing America.
