There have been times when my sister and I went out to eat that I didn’t think I could ever eat again. Yet, sometimes within four or five hours I would be hungry again. Last year after the hurricanes came through and there was no water, I was thirsty even after drinking the water that my neighbor had brought me. I wasn’t satisfied after drinking that water.
One glorious day, August 14, 1980, I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and be my personal Saviour. That was the day that my hunger and thirst was satisfied. The world can’t satisfy the hunger and thirst in our hearts for real love. Only Jesus can fill us until we aren’t hungry or thirsty anymore. He is the bread of life and the fountain of happiness and joy to a lonely and hurting heart.
When we walk with Jesus and put Him first in everything that we say or do, He fills us with a joy that is impossible to put into words. He should have first priority in our lives. Everything that we say or do should be to make Him happy. The desire of every person’s heart should be to bring honor and happiness to Jesus. If ever anyone deserves to be happy, it is Jesus, the Saviour of the world!
If your heart is hungry and thirsty for love and companionship, place your heart and life in the waiting arms of Jesus. He longs to fellowship with you and give you peace, joy and happiness.
