Have you ever looked at a map while taking a trip and decided to take a short cut on a winding road instead of using the direct main road to save time? A lot of times it would have been better if you had stayed on the main road due to roadblocks and unexpected hazards that you couldn’t see around the winding road. Sometimes you got lost taking the short cut. When you arrived at your destination, you realized that it ended up taking you longer than if you had stayed on the main road.
There are many people who are going to miss out on Heaven unless they get back on the main road. There are people who have left the narrow road leading to Jesus and Heaven and are traveling down the broad road that leads to satan and hell. My heart breaks because there are so many lonely, hurting people who desperately need to know that someone cares about them.
They are looking for happiness in alcohol, sex, and drugs. These things never give any lasting peace. They are only a temporary relief from the pain. Jesus is the only one who can take our pain away. The only real happiness, peace and joy are found in Jesus. Our precious Saviour not only gives us peace, joy and happiness; He is our peace, our joy and our happiness!
There are no shortcuts to Jesus and salvation. There is only one way to Heaven and that is through the precious atoning blood of Jesus which He shed for us on the cruel cross of Calvary. It was His amazing love, grace, mercy and compassion for us that caused Him to walk that long and lonely road to Calvary! I’ve often wondered what was going through His mind. I think that not only was He hurting physically, but also His heart was breaking because of the way He was being treated. All He had ever done was to try and give His unconditional love to all He met.
There is no greater love than the love of our Heavenly Father and Jesus. Thank You, Jesus, for the sacrifice that You made for us the day that You hung on the cross. Indeed, You are the great I Am! You are the beautiful Rose of Sharon and I love You with all of my heart.
There are people who try to work their way into Heaven. Some people try to buy their way into Heaven. None of these ways will ever work because our Heavenly Father is a Holy God and He can’t look on sin. There is no person living or ever will live who is able to pay the price for our sins because we are all sinners. The only person who was able to pay the debt that we could never pay is our blessed Saviour. He took our sins on Him and died in our place. What a Saviour! What a friend!
If you have left the road that leads to Jesus and are going down the road that leads to satan, I plead with you to turn around and get back on the narrow road to Jesus and Heaven. He paid an agonizing price for your salvation on the cross. Please give Him your heart and your life before it is too late. You may think that you have many years to live but Jesus could come back for us even as you read this.
Don’t put it off! Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and ask Him to come into your heart to be your personal Saviour. This is the most important decision that you will ever make and nobody else can make it for you as much as they want to do so. You are the only one who can make the decision. Who do you choose today, Jesus or satan?
