The other day my electric can opener would not work. I tried it six different times and it didn’t make a sound. Today, just to see what would happen, I plugged it in and tried to open a can. It opened immediately so maybe it was just tired and needed to recharge.
We are like that can opener. We get tired and need a recharge from Jesus of His Amazing Love and Mercy. Sometimes, the trials of this life overwhelm us and it seems like even our close friends fail us. If we go to Jesus and ask Him to help us, He will fill us with His Peace, Love, and Understanding.
The verse says, “they that wait upon the Lord”. That does not mean just sitting down and waiting for Jesus to fix everything. We need to be serving Jesus as He has asked us to do. Many times, we don’t feel like writing, singing, preaching, or anything else He has assigned to us, however we must be found faithful to the task.
Jesus walked up that long, lonely road to Calvary even when He was in pain. How can we not serve the One Who gave His all for us, His very Life!
