NOT EVEN A FLASHLIGHT

“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”

Revelation 21: 22, 23 King James Version

We had a tornado hit us in Pensacola, Florida where I live two days ago. Because of the mercy and protection of Jesus, the tornado didn’t come all the way to the area where I live. However, it came very close and it grew very dark outside. I would have been frightened but I knew that if the electricity had gone off, I would still have had light because I could have turned on my flashlight.

Oh dear friends, there is coming a day, and it may be today, when our loving Saviour will return for us with a victorious shout and in power and great glory. Unless we have already confessed that we are sinners and asked Him to forgive us of our sins and come into our hearts to be our personal Saviour, and unless the precious atoning blood of Jesus has been applied to our hearts for the forgiveness of our sins we will spend all eternity in hell with satan.

There is a bright and glowing light in Heaven because Jesus is the light. However, for those of us who have not asked Jesus into our hearts, we will be in darkness in hell for all eternity. We won’t have any light, not even a flashlight. The tragic part of it, and what breaks my heart, is that the people who aren’t saved will spend all eternity without Jesus. If I didn’t know without a shadow of doubt that I would spend all eternity with Jesus, I would go to bed and never get up again. Without Jesus, nothing makes any sense and nothing is worth while.

Before Jesus saved me, I walked around in a crippling and devastating depression. When He gloriously saved me and came into my heart to not only be my Saviour, but also to be my friend, the depression went away. It is so true that in the presence of Jesus we have fullness of joy. The time is short. We need to be telling every person we come in contact with about the unconditional love of a merciful and forgiving Saviour.

If we aren’t telling others every day about Jesus, may God have mercy on our souls! One day every one of us will stand before a Holy God and give an account as to why we didn’t tell others of the good news of a risen Saviour. Are you telling every person you see about Jesus? Are you telling them that Jesus loves them? Will you be able to look in the compassionate eyes of Jesus when He returns or will you have to hang your head in shame and disgrace because you didn’t tell others about Him and about His unconditional love?

Thank God for the Lamb, our precious Saviour! Thank God that one day He opened His heart and sent His only beloved Son into the world to pay the price for our sins. Oh what a Saviour! What a friend, this Jesus of Nazareth! Worthy is the Lamb of God! All hail, King Jesus! May Jesus Christ be praised! Thank You, Jesus, for Your unconditional love, mercy, grace, tenderness, forgiveness, understanding and protection. Indeed, You are worthy to be praised.
