In the past month, I have had five phone calls after midnight from people who are hurting and needed to talk right then. This morning I received two emails from people who needed someone to listen to what is in their hearts. One of the emails I received this morning said, “I’m afraid to tell people what I am going through for fear of rejection and ridicule”. If Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords can open His Heart to us, and none of us deserve His Love, how much more should we open our hearts to one another.
We do not have any right to ridicule, judge, or put someone down because we don’t think they are doing things correctly. There is no one living that is perfect and if we would ever understand that, life would be a lot easier for our families, loved ones, and friends. All of us fail Jesus every day and we shouldn’t point the finger at anyone. What we should do is point the finger at ourselves and clean up our own hearts.
If Jesus were to criticize us all the time for the things we do wrong, we would constantly be in trouble. All of us can be kinder to one another. We should be showing the Love of Jesus, the Unconditional Love that He so graciously gives to us. May God forgive us for not demonstrating the Love of Jesus to people who are hurting, and some of them with suicidal thoughts!
