OUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN

“Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.”

Lamentations 2: 19 King James Version

In this world of violence and pornography, our children are in danger daily. They see most of these things on television, and sad to say, some of them grow up thinking that this is a normal way of living. I submit to you on the Authority of the Word of God that this is not the life that God wants for our children.

Jesus Loves children very much and is very protective of them and He expect us to love and protect them also. I have received so many emails in the last eighteen months from people who say they grew up in a home where love was never expressed. Our first impulse is to blame our parents which I did for many years. However, we need to understand that if they didn’t feel loved when they were children then they didn’t know how to show love.

We need to love our children and feed them with the Love of Jesus. It is not enough to clothe them and buy them expensive gifts. We must feed them the Word of God on a daily basis. They need to read their Bibles, but far more important, they need to see us reading our Bibles. We will never be able to quench the hunger in their hearts with the Love of Jesus unless we have made a personal commitment to the Saviour of the world.

Our children are hungry not only physically; they are hungry for love and attention. Are you loving your children to Jesus by your words and by your actions? Do they know you love Jesus? Have you hugged your children today?
