OUR STRENGTH

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40: 28 – 31 King James Version

Yesterday I cleaned house, moved furniture and did laundry. Last night as I was walking to my bedroom I didn’t know if I was going to make it or not as I had run out of energy. There are times in our lives when we grow weary emotionally. Sometimes it feels like we remove a poisonous dart from satan and here comes another one that is even more painful.

When words of criticism and sarcasm are said to us over and over, we grow very weak emotionally. There are times when we are tempted to go to bed and never get up again. I have a very dear friend in Texas who is a pastor. He made this comment to me “Pastors have feelings just like everyone else and we need encouragement also”.

We need to stop criticizing our pastors. We need to encourage them and pray for them. When is the last time you told you pastor “Thank you for being my pastor, thank you for all the time you give me”? Jesus knows what it is like to feel weary emotionally. He was constantly criticized when He was here on earth. Are you criticizing or praying for your pastor and family?
