There is nothing too difficult for our precious Saviour. He can do anything. He can take a heart that is filled with anger, resentment, jealousy, spite, criticism and sarcasm and change it into a heart that is filled with compassion, tenderness and unconditional love for others. Sometimes He protects us and we aren’t even aware that we are in danger. My sister called me yesterday morning to tell me that a tornado was on the way to where I live. Because of His mercy and protection, the tornado stopped before it got to my area. Thank You, Jesus, for Your faithfulness to protect us.
Our Saviour not only was triumphant over Pharaoh and over that tornado yesterday, He was triumphant over satan when He hung on that cruel cross of horror and agony. We will never be able to fully comprehend the pain and heartache that Jesus suffered for us. In fact, I don’t think that He has told us all of the horror that He endured for us when He was crucified. When you love somebody, you try to do all you can to keep them from worrying. Jesus certainly loves us and He proved it on the cross.
Do you realize that everything that our Heavenly Father and Jesus do is for our benefit? When God sent His beloved Son on His mission trip from Heaven to the earth to pay the price for our sins by dying on the cross for us, it was for our benefit. When Jesus allowed them to torture Him, spit on Him, curse Him, mock Him, buffet Him and pound those nails into His hands and feet, He did it for our benefit. Not only did they pound the nails into His hands and feet, I believe that every time a nail was pounded into His body, He felt the nail in His heart. When He died for us, He won the victory over satan.
We have a mandate to tell our families, our loved ones, our friends and the world about our precious and risen Saviour. It is a privilege and honor to serve our risen triumphant Saviour. The privilege and honor of serving Jesus should not be taken for granted. Are you serving Jesus? Does He come first in your life before everything and everybody? Remember, the level of your service to Jesus depends on your level of love for Him. How much do you love Him?
