RESULTS OF OUR SAVIOUR

“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.”

Proverbs 15: 13 King James Version

I ride community transportation and last week one of the drivers told me that every time he saw me I was smiling and so he knew that I was a Christian. A friend of the family told me several months ago that I was always smiling and happy. Today as I was brushing my hair, I looked in the mirror and I was smiling. What a contrast to how I looked even two years ago!

The reason I was smiling this afternoon as I was brushing my hair and the reason why most of the time I have a smile on my face is because I know Jesus Loves me. With that assurance in my heart, nothing else matters to me. As long as I know that I am making Jesus happy, it makes me happy. The smile on my face is the result of our Saviour who changed my heart and life.

We need to be very careful who we choose as our close friends. It only takes one person to tear you down and lead you astray. However, it only takes one person to build you up and encourage you. I am very selective who I choose for my close friends. I only have close friendships with people who I know love Jesus. We are to witness to people and treat them with compassion and love, but we need to be cautious about having a close friend who doesn’t love Jesus.

Do you love Jesus? If so, when people look at you do they see a smile most of the time, or do they see a frown. All of us have difficult days when we don’t feel like smiling, but if we have been saved and set free by the precious blood of Jesus, we should be smiling most of the time. When people look at us, they should see the Love of Jesus in our eyes and in our smiles.
