ROADBLOCKS OF LIFE

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”

John 10: 10, 11 King James Version

There are many roadblocks in life and especially when you have dedicated your life in service to Jesus. We have roadblocks of distraction and discouragement. Sometimes it seems that for every step forward we take, we take ten steps back. Many times we allow satan to steal our joy and we become discouraged.

Jesus has already defeated satan on the cross so we don’t have to stay discouraged. As soon as we realize that we are being attacked once again by satan, we need to share our burden with a trusted friend and then immediately take it to Jesus. Our friends love us and can pray for us, but they can’t fix the situation. Only Jesus can pour His soothing ointment of comfort in our hearts and kiss away the tears of discouragement and hurt. He sees what others can’t see; He sees the things we keep hidden from our families, loved ones and friends.

Jesus said that He came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly. He does not want us to be discouraged and defeated or without joy. He wants us to go to Him as children go to parents when they are hurting. It breaks the heart of our dear Saviour when we are hurting.

He knows first hand the pain of loneliness, sarcasm, ridicule and heartache. Jesus is our Comforter, Encourager, Saviour and Friend. There is no one like Jesus! If you’re facing a roadblock in your service to the Master, run as fast as you can to Him and allow Him to restore the joy to your heart once again.
