SIGNED WITH HIS BLOOD

“And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.”

A very dear friend sent me more books that she has written and inside the books she has written something to me. It makes the books personal to me because she signed them. There is someone else who has given me a book, the Bible, and made it personal by writing something to me and His name is Jesus. One day, the Saviour of the world signed my name with His precious atoning blood.

As the blood flowed from Jesus on the cross of Calvary that dark and horrible day, He made a way for me to have salvation and a home in Heaven with Him for eternity. While he was hanging there in such agony and heartache, His Heart was filled with Love for us. He did not have to die on the cross for us. Yet, out of obedience to His Father and Love for us, He allowed Himself to be tortured and beaten beyond recognition.

If we ever grasp just a fingernail of the love Jesus has for us and the sacrifices He has made for us, I think we will stop being so cruel and hateful to each other. It was love that made Him walk that long, lonely road to Calvary that day. He doesn’t ask much of us in the light of all He has done for us. He tells us to love one another unconditionally as He Loves us. Yet, many times we fail Him in this area of our lives.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing in this life more important than loving others to Jesus by our words and actions. Our Saviour was crucified so that we can have forgiveness and know that we are loved. Do you love Jesus?
