STAINS ON THE WALLS

“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.”

Hebrews 11: 30 King James Version

There are stains on the walls in my bathroom and they could be covered with a coat of paint. However, we have stains of cruelty, and verbal and physical abuse in our hearts that can’t be covered with a coat of paint. These stains have to be removed by Jesus. He doesn’t paint over them; He takes them off the walls of our hearts through His unconditional Love.

Jesus has not been here for over two thousand years. He has asked us to love others to Him. He works through us. We need to understand that it is not us that removes the stains; it is Jesus working through us that takes the hurt from stained hearts. I have heard people say “Because of me, that person is saved”. That is not a true statement. We are powerless to save or change anyone. It is the precious blood of Jesus applied to a heart that saves a person.

We need to be careful that we don’t take the credit for something that Jesus has done. All glory and honour belongs to Him! We are simply His children loving others to Him. We are not healers; Jesus is the Healer. We are not saviours; Jesus is the Saviour of the world. Without Jesus, all our righteousness is as filthy rags. Worthy is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin and stains of abuse and hurt from our hearts!

If the walls of your heart are stained with years of abuse and heartache, allow Jesus to deposit His Love and compassion in your heart. He will be faithful to kiss away the hurt, loneliness and tears from your heart. Give your heart and life to Jesus today and you will have a happiness that you have never known.
