TEMPERATURE OF THE HEART

“And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.”

John 18: 18 King James Version

I checked the weather report online this morning and then I went and checked the report for a dear friend who lives in Stella, MO. There is a big difference in the temperature. The same is true of our hearts because some hearts may be warm, some may be hot, and others may be cold.

Yesterday, I had a very challenging day due to a situation I was facing. I sent an email to my prayer partner asking her to pray for me. Not only did she pray for me, she called me on the telephone. We only talked for a couple of minutes, but while she was talking I could see a flicker of light in the dark tunnel. She designs web pages for a living, yet all day long, she took her valuable time to email me and reassure me that Jesus Loves me, and that she loves me. She put actions to words as Jesus has commanded us to do.

I don’t know what situation you are facing today or if your heart is cold with numbness of despair, but I can tell you that if you will allow Jesus to do so, He will warm your heart with His Amazing Love and Understanding. Only Jesus can see into the depths of our hearts. Only Jesus can put a song back into our hearts.

Is your heart on fire for Jesus today? Are you telling a hurting world of the Love of Jesus? More important, are you showing the world the Love of Jesus? What is the temperature of your heart?
