I have a book that a dear and cherished friend has written and I am now half way through the book for the second time. It is a wonderful book full of tenderness and the love of Jesus. I know the author of that book, but I know another Author and His name is Jesus. He is the Author of my salvation.

This Author purchased my salvation with a terrible, agonizing price, His precious blood. He not only is my Author; He is the finisher of my faith. He will be faithful to stay with me through every heartache and trial. He will never leave me, not even for a minute.

Jesus not only endured a physical cross, He endured and still is enduring a verbal and emotional cross. Every time that we say cruel and sarcastic words to someone, we are pounding another nail into His Heart. All of us hurt other people with our words and actions and don’t even realize it, but if we do it on purpose then we are just as guilty as the ones who pounded the nails into His Hands.

Do you know this Author, the Saviour of the world? Has His precious atoning blood been applied to your heart? He can’t bring you to the finish line if you don’t allow Him to start. Open your heart to Jesus and let Him finish the race for you.
