THE BIBLE

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

2 Timothy 3: 16, 17 Hebrews 4: 12 King James Version

I received an email from a person who said “I no longer wish to be on your mailing list because you are preaching. I enjoyed the first writings you sent me, but then you started preaching”. I am not a pastor, a preacher, or an evangelist. I am a lady who God called on January 24, 2005 to be a missionary. I love Jesus with every breath I take and every beat of my heart. I fail Him so many times but He knows that I love Him.

When God called me to be a missionary He gave me one of my favorite Scriptures for my ministry “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound” (Isaiah 61:1).

When I said yes to the call to be a missionary, I told Him that I could do nothing by myself; that I had no talents and all I had to offer Him was my love. He said “Your love is all that I require”. Anything that I write is because I have prayed and asked Him what He wanted me to write. So if you feel convicted when you read a devotional that I send, believe me, it is not from me, it is from Him. It is the Holy Spirit who is convicting you, not me.

I know what it feels like to be without hope, to be in total darkness, to be in utter despair, and endure a crippling and devastating depression and horror so that is why I share from my heart. I know that the best way to encourage people is to share personal experiences. I remember the first time I ever heard someone share from his heart when I lived in Oklahoma many years ago. I thought if he can do it, then maybe I can share from my heart with Jesus helping me.

No matter what heartaches you have or what burdens you bear, Jesus is able to take them and turn them into joy and happiness. He Loves you so much and proved His Love for you on the cruel cross of Calvary. If you don’t know this wonderful Saviour, if you have never invited Him into your heart to be your personal Saviour, I encourage you; I urge you to say yes to Him right now. He will be the dearest friend you have ever known. He will never be too busy to listen to you. He will never leave you, not even for a minute. Open your heart to Jesus and let Him come in today before it is too late.
