THE CLEANSING SOAP

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”

As I was doing my laundry tonight the thought came to me that just as the clothes will not get clean without soap, neither will we be clean until the atoning blood of Jesus is applied to our hearts. We can give all our money away, sell all of our possessions and serve on the mission field. We can do kind and charitable acts but all of these things are in vain unless there has been a day when we confessed our sins and asked Jesus to forgive us and come into our hearts and be our personal Saviour.

All of us are lost in the darkness of sin until the light of Jesus shines brightly in our hearts through His cleansing blood. It does not matter how long we have served Jesus, we were without hope and on our way to an eternity without Him until He deposited His cleansing soap of forgiveness, love and mercy in our hearts. He is the only one who can forgive and save a person. We can lead people to the foot of the cross, but it is Jesus who is the Saviour of the world.

Many of us have unsaved loved ones and friends. We have the responsibility to lead them to our Saviour by our loving actions and words. We must let them see Jesus in us and want the peace, joy and happiness that we have in our hearts. We can’t save them or change them. Only Jesus can change a person’s heart and life. Has the cleansing blood of Jesus been applied to your heart and life?
