THE FINAL TRIP

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

1 Thessalonians 4: 16 – 18 King James Version

My prayer partner is going on a trip today and I will really miss her but one day all of us who have been saved through the atoning, cleansing blood of the Christ of Calvary will never have to say goodbye even for a few days. We will make our final trip when Jesus comes back for us and we will be together for all eternity. How I long for that day when I shall see my dearest and best friend, Jesus, face to face! What joy floods my heart as I wait with eagerness and joyful anticipation to see Him! I will be able to put my arms around Him and give Him a big hug and try to tell Him how much I love Him and how much I appreciate all He has done for me.

I have had a reservation in heaven since August 14, 1980. That was the day that I admitted that I was a sinner and asked Jesus to forgive me and come into my heart to be my personal Saviour. This reservation is paid in full and can never be cancelled. It was paid through the sacrificial death of our Saviour on the cross. It is His precious atoning blood that has secured my reservation in heaven and all hell can’t cancel it. If you have invited Jesus into your heart to be your personal Saviour, you too have a place reserved for you in heaven.

We must allow Jesus to inspect and clean our hearts daily, sometimes every hour, because they become stained with bitterness, criticism, and unforgiveness. Jesus has commanded us to forgive one another yet all too often we fail Him in this area of our lives. When people hurt us, we sometimes become bitter and say things to them that break the heart of our Saviour. We must keep our hearts in tune with Jesus and be ready to go at any minute because the final trip is a one way trip and only those who are washed in the blood of the Lamb will make the trip with Jesus. Are you ready to make the trip? If not, you will be left behind and will spend eternity without Jesus. Don’t let that happen to you! Say yes to Jesus now before it is too late.
