THE GREATEST HOMECOMING

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”

Titus 2: 13, 14 King James Version

Some of my friends have shared with me about their homecoming games. They have described with a lot of enthusiasm, the details and excitement about their homecoming games. Bill and Gloria Gaither have touched our hearts and have encouraged and inspired us countless times through their homecoming series on television.

One day we will have the greatest homecoming of all when Jesus comes back for us, His bride. He is going to descend with a shout of victory and there will be the loudest trumpet the world has ever heard. The trumpet is going to announce the return of our blessed Saviour. On that day there will be an excitement and joy that nobody has ever experienced at any homecoming game at their school.

We will have a celebration and victory party that the world has never known. There won’t be any alcohol served. There will be no loud rock music, sex, drunken driving or fighting. Teenagers won’t get in trouble because they stayed out too late. It will be a party of happiness, rejoicing and love that will last for all eternity because Jesus is the Host. The table will be set with peace, happiness, contentment and joy and we will feast for all eternity at His table of love.

Did you know that if you are a blood bought child of God, you are a peculiar person? Thank God for the precious atoning blood of Jesus that was applied to my heart on August 14, 1980. On that day I became a peculiar person and Jesus took away all the garbage of my past life, gave me a new heart and a reason to want to live. He lovingly and gently deposited His tenderness, understanding, grace, mercy, compassion, forgiveness and kindness in the hidden wounds of my heart that were bleeding and raw.

Are you going to be there at the greatest homecoming the world has ever known? Are you going to feast at the table of love with our precious Savior? If you haven’t admitted that you are a sinner and asked Jesus to forgive you, come into your heart and save you and cleanse you from your sins, you will not be there. You will spend all eternity without Jesus. Hell is a real place and it will be full of sorrow but the worse thing about hell is that you will spend all eternity without Jesus.

Are you ready to meet Jesus? Your family and loved ones want to meet you in Heaven but they can’t do it for you. Salvation is a personal issue. Every person must humble himself or herself and invite Jesus to be his or her personal Saviour. Say “yes” to Jesus before it is too late! Don’t miss out on being in heaven with your family and Jesus. When Jesus hung on that cross of horror and agony, He took every sin that you have ever committed on Him. That is how much He loves you; He loves you so much that He allowed them to crucify Him and He never did anything wrong. What amazing unconditional love from the heart of Jesus!
