THE HIDDEN PAIN

“Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.”

Isaiah 40: 1 King James Version

There is so much heartache and despair in the world. I received two emails last night in an hour’s time that were full of criticism. One of the emails had so much hatred in it that I could feel a sharp pain in my heart. When I got up this morning and checked my email, someone had sent me an email that was full of despair, confusion and heartache. O dear friends, we must be about the Master’s business of comforting one another. He has commanded us to comfort our loved ones and a world that desperately needs to know someone cares and understands the pain in their hearts.

While we are commanded to comfort each other and encourage one another, only Jesus can see in our hearts. He sees the pain and anguish that we keep hidden deep in our hearts. Only Jesus can take away the tears of frustration, hurt, betrayal and anguish in our hearts with His tender and gentle kisses of unconditional Love. When we hurt, He hurts and when we rejoice, He rejoices with us. He Loves us with a Love that can’t be put into mere words.

If you have pain and sorrow in your heart today and you are hurting so much that you don’t think you can give another smile or take another step, know that Jesus cares and understands. He feels your pain and His heart aches to see you hurting. He will gently and tenderly comfort you but you must go to Him and tell Him that you are hurting and need Him to comfort you. Climb up on His lap of comfort and understanding and allow Him to comfort you as only He can. He will be faithful to restore your joy and will hold you tightly until the pain goes away.
