THE JOY OF A NEW DAY

“The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.”

Psalm 74: 16 King James Version

When we wake up in the morning we have a choice to make, to spend time with Jesus and serve Him or not to spend time with Him and serve Him. There is joy in serving Jesus. This verse says that the night belongs to Him also so we should be serving Him from the minute we get out of bed until the minute we go to bed. The longer I serve Him, the happier I become. Many times we have situations and heartaches in our lives and we don’t care if tomorrow comes or not, but we can always be thankful and greet every new day with joy because of the amazing unconditional love of our wonderful Saviour.

If you want to have an abundance of joy and happiness in your heart spend time with Jesus the first thing every morning. Tell Him how much you love Him and thank Him for all He has done for you. Most of the time when we pray we ask Him for things. We need to go to Him without asking Him for anything and just tell Him how wonderful He is and how much we appreciate Him. He has feelings also and wants to be told that He is loved just like we want to be told that we are loved. I think that if we would go to Him several times a day and just say “I love You, Jesus” we would have a peace in our hearts that we have never known. We certainly would make Him happy.

Only Jesus can turn sorrows into joy. He is the only one who can take the darkness of pain from our hearts and replace it with light and gladness. Do you know this beautiful Jesus? I didn’t ask if you are saved; do you know Him? Is He your dearest and closest friend? Are you looking forward with eager anticipation in your heart to see Him face to face?
