THE NIGHT IS OVER

“Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

Psalm 30: 4, 5 King James Version

For over forty years, I wandered in the darkness of night in my heart and emotions. I had insomnia for many years and spent many long sleepless nights. As soon as the sun would come up, I would get up. However, nothing I could do would take the darkness of night from my heart. Every day I tried to think of a plan to take my life without hurting my family. My heart was full of the darkness of depression and suicidal thoughts. I had read this verse and wondered if morning would ever come for me.

Morning came for me the day I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and invited Him into my heart to become my personal Saviour. I stopped feeling sorry for myself and realized that there were many people who had worse problems than me. Jesus is longing to give us light and hope, but we have to admit that we are powerless to remove the darkness from our hearts. It is Jesus that illuminates our hearts with His unconditional Love, forgiveness and salvation.

The more we fall in love with Jesus, the greater our joy will be. Jesus is our joy. He is our rock of safety and our shelter from the storms of life. There is nobody or nothing that can defeat us when we are anchored in Him. He fights our battles for us and kisses away our tears. He lifts us up when we fall down. He holds our hand and walks beside us. There is no one like Jesus! There is no friend like Jesus! O how I love Him!
