THE PRISON OF OUR HEART

“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Matthew 18: 18 King James Version

There are times in our lives when we have to do things that we really don’t want to do. I know of a person who had to have someone arrested out of fear of being hurt or killed. The person that was arrested refuses to forgive the one who called the police even though it was explained why the person made the complaint and asked for understanding and forgiveness.

Jesus said “Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven”. When we refuse to forgive someone, if that person is not saved it will be impossible to lead him or her to Jesus. How can we possibly convince them that God loves them if we don’t love them?

I am speaking from personal experience. I had hurt many people before I was saved and after I asked Jesus to be my Saviour I asked the people I had hurt to forgive me. There were some people who refused to forgive me and didn’t think I had changed. In reality, what they were doing was calling Jesus a liar and doubting that He can change people. How that must hurt the heart of our beloved Saviour.

There is no one on this earth who is perfect. There was only one perfect person who ever lived or ever will live and His name is Jesus! All of us make mistakes and sin. If we would take care of our own hearts and be sure they are right before Jesus, we wouldn’t have the time to be so critical, sarcastic and judgmental to other people.
