THERE ARE CONDITIONS

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8: 28 King James Version

I have received several emails from people who have told me that they don’t understand why things aren’t going the way they had planned them and why it seems like nothing works out for them like it does for other people. One person even suggested that God plays favorites. That is a lie straight from the pits of hell. It is satan trying to deceive and discourage us.

God does not play favorites! He loves all of us unconditionally. He gives to all of us who accept the blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins the same measure of grace, kindness, understanding, mercy, tenderness and compassion. However, the Bible tells us that there are conditions for things working together for good for us.

The first condition is that we have to love God. We may tell everybody that we love Him and we may even do good deeds and give our money to charities but we can’t fool God. He knows who loves Him and who doesn’t love Him.

The second condition is that He has a purpose for us and what we are doing may not be His perfect will for our lives. Also, parents will reward their children who are obedient but they won’t reward their children who are disobedient to them. The same is true with God. If we are disobedient to Him, then of course He will not reward us. It is very arrogant of us to expect Him to reward us if we are not obeying Him, much less ask Him for things.

How is your heart today? Are you obeying God in everything that you do? If it seems that nothing ever goes right for you, search your heart and see if there is anything there that is displeasing to God. If there is something in your heart that is hurting your relationship with Him, repent of it and ask Him to forgive you and help you be more obedient. We have a loving Heavenly Father and He proved His love for us by sending His beloved Son, Jesus, to die for us so that we may have our sins forgiven.
