THE RESTORER OF BROKEN HEARTS

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Psalm 147: 3 King James Version

There are times when we are very sad and have broken hearts. What a comfort it is to know that Jesus is the restorer of broken hearts. Not only is He the restorer of broken hearts, He is the restorer of broken homes. Our homes become fragmented due to arguments, finances, rebellious children, and daily stress. We become irritable, argumentative, critical, and judgmental and we fail to love our family as Jesus has commanded us to love them.

I think all of us have had harsh words said to us. Jesus knows what it is like to be criticized and attacked with hateful words. None of us has ever or will ever experience the hurt that He endured when He was here on earth. The tragic thing about it is that He is still being attacked by people who doubt Him and ridicule Him. There are people who use dirty words and misuse His name. One day these people will stand before a Holy God and give an account for every time they used His precious name in a negative way. Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords and He is to be treated with respect and dignity.

Whatever trials and heartaches you are facing today, Jesus is able to restore the hope and joy back into your heart. He is the only one who can take an impossible situation and make it possible. He applies His soothing ointment of mercy, grace, understanding, love and tenderness to our broken and scarred hearts. He sees the despair, loneliness and tears that we keep hidden from our loved ones and friends. “What a friend we have in Jesus. All our sins and grief's to bear. What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer.” Thank You for loving us, Jesus. You are worthy and altogether lovely.
