THE SON NEVER GOES DOWN

“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”

Malachi 4:2 King James Version

There are times in our lives when we can’t see anything but darkness. There are people who are in the darkness of divorce and broken homes. There are parents whose hearts are broken over children who have gone astray. There are countless people who feel totally alone and believe that nobody loves them. There are people who have been ridiculed, criticized and have been told they are no good for so long that they don’t believe that Jesus could ever love them. I know this feeling because I felt the same way for many years.

Last year I received a heartbreaking email from a youth pastor. He and his family had moved and he felt like he was useless and that he could no longer serve Jesus. We emailed one another for a long time. He felt like they didn’t accept him and wished he wasn’t there. He finally told me to send my writings to someone else, that he wasn’t worthy to receive anything good. I reminded him that none of us are worthy of anything. It is only through the precious blood of Jesus that we are accepted. How my heart ached for the agony he felt in his heart!

Dear friends, the sun in the sky may go down when it is dark; however it is just the opposite with Jesus. When the darkness falls in our hearts, the Son arises with healing in His wings. The light of His unconditional Love for every person is bright enough to illuminate every hidden hurt and fear in our hearts. When the lights of hope become nothing but darkness in your heart, He will rise with healing in His wings. Thank God for a Saviour who understands and cares!
