We have seen on television scenes of soldiers risking their lives to help another soldier who has been shot or injured. They are united together in serving their country. O’ that Christians would be united together in unconditional love serving Jesus. When Christians make mistakes instead of us running to help each other, we judge and criticize each other. May God forgive us! One day we will stand before a Holy God and give an account of the way we treated one another.
We sing a song with the words “and they’ll know we are Christians by our love”. When people look at us, we who claim to be Christians, do they see us loving and encouraging one another or do they see us attacking one another with criticism? If we were to run and help people when they are weak, and if we would encourage each other daily, there is no telling how many people we could lead to Jesus. We will never be able to serve Jesus effectively until we love unconditionally as He has commanded us to love each other.
Jesus is not impressed with how many material possessions we have or in the strength of our bodies; what touches the heart of Jesus is the condition of our hearts and how we treat one another. How it breaks the heart of our dear Saviour when He sees the way we criticize and condemn each other! Are you loving unconditionally as Jesus has commanded, or are you being critical and judgmental? Most important of all, do you love Jesus? If so, what are you doing to prove it?
