WAITING WITH ARMS OPEN

“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?”

Genesis 3: 8, 9 King James Version

One of the definitions for the word “call” in the Webster’s Dictionary is “call to account: to hold responsible”. I think God was calling Adam into accountability that day just as He calls us to give an account of where we are when we are supposed to be meeting with Him. The very first thing that we should do when we open our eyes in the morning, even before we get out of bed or say good morning to our spouse, is to tell Jesus we love Him.

When I go to bed at night and when I open my eyes in the morning I say “I love You, Father. I love You, Jesus. I love You, Holy Spirit. Thank You for Loving me and for all You have done for me”. Just as we want our loved ones to tell us that they love us, so Jesus wants us to tell Him that we love Him. He has feelings and it hurts Him when we ignore Him. He Loves us so much and has done so much for us that it should be a burning desire in our hearts to tell Him how much we love Him and to meet with Him as soon as we open our eyes.

Yes, He is waiting for us with His arms open wide but do we have our arms open wide to love others to Jesus? Are we hugging others to Jesus? Are we giving our time, talents, and all that we have to our loved ones and to a hurting world even if it is inconvenient and not on our schedule? Thank God that one day we will have eternity to fellowship with each other! Have you met with Jesus this morning?
