I saw on television today, scene after scene of the anguish, horror, and devastation of the hurricane hit areas. After fifty minutes, I had to turn the television off as my heart was breaking and I just could not watch the pain on their faces another minute. I called my sister because I wanted to hear her voice. I love my sister very, very much. She was not in the area that was hit by the hurricane, but she could have been.
Jesus can not get up and turn His television off when the pain is unbearable. He has said that He will never leave us or forsake us. My heart was broken this afternoon as I watched those dear people, but that is nothing compared to the agony that Jesus suffered on the Cross for us. Sad to say, even today He is suffering agony because of us.
He has given us the Answer for every trial, every heartache, and every situation we face so that we can have His Peace while we are on earth. Yet, many times we ignore Him and all He has done for us and His Heart breaks once again. I pray that all of us will stop breaking the Heart of Jesus. We need to do things that will bring Joy to His Heart instead of pain.
