WE GIVE YOU THANKS

“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

Psalm 34: 1 – 8 King James Version

It is very easy to praise Jesus when things are going our way but what about the times when things are not going our way? Do we still praise Him anyway? I think if we were honest we would have to admit that sometimes we don’t praise Him. It does not matter how many problems and heartaches that we have, we can always find something to praise Him for.

If we can’t find anything to praise Him for, we can praise Him for the bed we sleep on. If we don’t have to go outside to go to the bathroom, we can praise Him for that. If we have a home to live in, food to eat and clothes to wear then we have everything we need. Anything else that we have are special gifts given to us from the heart of Jesus.

How it must hurt Him when we complain about things not going our way. We don’t have any difficulty asking Him for help yet many times we forget or neglect to thank Him for all that He does for us every day. The greatest thing that He does for us every day is to love us unconditionally. What a privilege we have to be loved by the Saviour of the world.

He forgives us no matter how many times we fail Him. He is there for us twenty four hours a day. It brings joy to His heart when we talk to Him. He also is our comforter and encourager. Other people can comfort and encourage us, but only our beautiful, merciful, compassionate, loving, understanding and tender Saviour can take the darkness and discouragement from our hearts and replace them with light, joy and peace. It is time we start giving Him thanks all the time no matter what is going on in our lives.

Jesus, we give You thanks for loving us so much that You died for us. Indeed, You are a loving and beautiful Saviour. How we appreciate the sacrifice that You made for us on the cruel cross of Calvary. Thank You from the bottom of our hearts for all that You do for us. Remind us to talk to You when we get so busy with our daily activities that we forget about You until we need something. We’re sorry that we have hurt You so much. Please forgive us for failing You and for hurting You. Again, thank You so much for loving us. Amen.
