WE NEED HELP

“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously.”

All of us when we are criticized, threatened, and attacked verbally want to attack that person who is putting us down. It is extremely difficult to not say harsh and critical words to the person who is hurting us. Yet, the Bible says that Jesus did not revile when He was reviled.

For years I tried to keep quiet when someone hurt me or made me angry and I never succeeded. It was only when I gave my tongue to Jesus and asked Him to please help me not say things to hurt other people, that I was able to not say something back.

None of us are able to do this in our own strength because we are in the flesh and our natural instinct is to protect ourselves no matter what we have to do. We desperately need Jesus to help us in this area of our lives. We need to immediately run to Him and ask Him to help us keep our mouths shut when someone attacks us.

We need to ask Jesus to fill our hearts with so much love for others that we will be able to give a kind answer when someone attacks us. We need Jesus to help us love others as He wants us to love.
