WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING

"Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."

Deuteronomy 11: 18,19 King James Version

Jesus told us to teach His Words to our children, but are we teaching them to respect Him? When we are teaching our children manners, we tell them to say please and thank you. Are we teaching our children to say please and thank You to Jesus? I have to admit that I forget to say please and thank You to Him when I am praying.

I can’t remember ever hearing someone pray who said please to Jesus. We tell our children that it is just common courtesy to say these things, but yet we neglect to extend the same courtesy to Jesus.

If anybody should be respected and treated with courtesy, it is Jesus. He does so much for us every day. When we wake up in the morning, He gives us the air we breathe. He gives us Grace and Mercy for each new day. He fights our battles for us and protects us.

When we pray out loud, we need to let our children hear us say please and thank You to Jesus. If we don’t do it, then our children won’t either.
