What Are You Wearing?

“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.”

Colossians 3: 12 King James Version

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and we are going to wear our new clothes to church. While it is important to look our best, Jesus says that our attitudes are more important. We can look our very best with new clothes and new shoes, but if we are not kind and loving to each other, then we are not properly dressed.

Jesus says that we are to be longsuffering. We are to be patient with our loved ones when they make mistakes because we also make mistakes. He says that we are to have humbleness of mind. We are not to think that we are better than someone else.

We need to stop judging and start praying for one another. We can’t change anyone and it is not our responsibility or even our right to do so. It is Jesus who changes a person’s heart and life. We need to stop playing judge and jury and start living our lives in such a way that others will see Jesus and want what we have.

The people we sit next to in church may look beautiful, but some of them are hurting desperately and they need to know someone cares. We need to reach out and love them with the Love of Jesus. We need to smile at them and talk to them after the service, not just rush out the door so we can beat the crowd to our favorite restaurant.

Are you wearing the Love of Jesus, or are you wearing the hatred of satan? Do people feel the Love of Jesus when you talk to them? Do they see Jesus in you?
