WHAT COLOR IS YOUR HEART

“For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”

1 Corinthians 11: 23 - 26 King James Version

I just finished reading a book called “Red Like Crimson” by Janice Thompson. In my opinion, it is one of the greatest books I have ever read next to the Bible. It captured the emotions of the people so beautifully. The book painted a beautiful picture of how our hearts are changed by the precious blood of Jesus from the blackness of sin to white as snow after Jesus forgives us and deposits His cleansing atoning blood in our hearts (Isaiah 1:13).

Many years ago while going door to door on visitation for my church, I presented the plan of salvation to a lady. When I asked her if she had ever asked Jesus to forgive her for her sins and come into her heart to be her personal Saviour, she replied “I’m not a sinner. I have never killed anybody. I don’t drink and I don’t do drugs. I don’t need to be forgiven because I haven’t sinned.” How that statement must have hurt the heart of Jesus. She was implying that she was perfect.

There was only one perfect person who has ever lived or ever will live and His name is Jesus! The Bible says “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). All of us have sinned whether we admit it or not. We may be able to hide our sins from our families, from our loved ones and from our friends but we can’t hide them from Jesus. He sees everything and He knows everything. Did you know that every time we go faster than the speed limit that is posted that we are sinning? We are the ones who say that there are big sins and little sins. To God there are no big sins or little sins because to Him sin is sin!

Jesus died for the person who speeds as well as for the one who has killed someone. Every time we say something critical, judgmental and sarcastic to people, it is the same as pulling the trigger on a gun and shooting them. We kill their confidence and make them doubt their self worth. What is so tragic about it is that sometimes because of being attacked so viciously with critical words, they begin to doubt that Jesus loves them.

What color is your heart today? Is it white as snow with the precious blood of Jesus or is it black with the ugliness of satan? Have you been forgiven and cleansed in the precious blood of Jesus? If not, please don’t put it off. Give your heart and life to Jesus right now before it is too late! One day it will be too late for you to say yes to Jesus. Please don’t miss out on spending eternity with Jesus. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart to be your personal Saviour. Then thank Him for His amazing unconditional love and for His mercy and grace.
