WHAT DID YOU SAY

"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you."

Ephesians 4: 29-32 King James Version

What is coming out of your mouth, words of praise and encouragement, or words of criticism and cursing? I remember my Mother saying to me many times, "If you don’t have anything good to say, keep your mouth shut". I would get upset when she said that to me. However, Jesus already said the same thing.

We wonder why our spouse, brothers and sisters, children, and friends don’t want to be around us or talk to us. It is because we are saying hurtful, condemning things to them. May God forgive us!

We get upset when someone says something cruel to us, yet we are guilty of doing the same thing to him or her. If we would ever allow Jesus to penetrate our hearts, and not just our minds, we would be much more effective in serving Him as He wants us to serve Him.

Let us always remember that when we hurt others, we break the Heart of Jesus. If making Jesus happy is not our first priority in life, then we need to search our heart and ask Him to forgive us for not putting Him first.
