WHO ARE YOU SERVING

"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and behold, angels came and ministered unto him."

Matthew 4: 8-11 King James Version

I received an email this afternoon from a man who said that he is a pastor. In the email he told me that I could not have a ministry of encouraging pastors, because pastors do not need encouragement, and if they do then they are not really pastors. I immediately deleted the email rather than allow satan to get even a toehold.

In this passage of Scripture, the angels came and ministered unto Jesus after satan had tempted him again and again. Why would He need angels to minister to Him if He were not discouraged? If we would ever understand that Jesus was human just like we are, then we would realize that He hurt, shed tears, laughed, rejoiced, and was sad.

The Bible says that we are not to say anything against a pastor. However, the Bible also says that we are to be discerning and test the spirits to see if they be of God. If this man is really a pastor, then I submit to you that he does not know the Heart of Jesus and does not love Jesus or he would never have made that statement.

Who are you serving today, satan or Jesus? Are you encouraging Jesus, or discouraging Him by your actions and words?
