WHO DO YOU CHOOSE

“Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24: 14, 15 King James Version

A very dear and beloved friend of mine was speaking and she told about a pastor who had stopped serving Jesus. The pastor told his congregation that God sends people to hell. That is a lie straight from the pits of hell. God doesn’t send us anywhere. He gave us a free will. We can either choose to accept Jesus as our personal Saviour, or we can choose to reject Him. There is no middle ground; we either accept Him into our hearts or we reject Him.

Jesus is a gentleman. He will not force Himself on us. The Bible says “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”. (Revelation 3:20) Jesus said that we have to be the ones to open our heart’s door to Him. He will not come in where He is not wanted. He is rejected enough so why would He willingly go where He is not wanted.

We talk so much and have read so much about the crucifixion of our precious Saviour, but I don’t think any of us, including me, have grasped even a fingernail of the horror, agony, excruciating pain, loneliness, and heartache that He endured on the cross for us. If we have, we would not treat Him the way that we do.

He has told us that what we do and say to people we are doing and saying to Him. So, if we are being cruel to people and saying unkind things to them, we are doing and saying them to the Saviour of the world. How dare you and I treat Him the way that we do, sometimes without realizing it, and sometimes on purpose!

Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is worthy to be praised, worshipped, honored, glorified, cherished, adored and magnified. It is a privilege to be able to serve the risen Christ. How we must break His heart and His Father’s heart when we refuse to obey Him, or ignore Him!

It is time to stop playing games with Jesus. It is time that we stop taking advantage of Him. Many times we only pray when we need or want something. How many times do we go to Him and tell Him how much we love Him without asking Him for something? He is a King! He is Royalty and we need to start treating Him with the respect that He earned on the cross, a cross of shame that He bore for us!

Where is your heart today? Have you given your heart and life to Jesus, or are you serving the world and satan? Who do you choose, Jesus or satan? Have you invited the Christ of Calvary into your heart and life? Unless you have invited Him into your heart to be your personal Saviour, you have chose satan instead of Him.
