WHO PULLED THE TRIGGER

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. If you have ever watched a race, you might have seen someone pulling the trigger on a gun to start the race. We are in a race in this life and it depends on who we allow to pull the trigger if we win or lose. If satan pulls our trigger, we will always lose. If Jesus pulls our trigger, we will always win. We will have obstacles in the race of life but Jesus will bring us through victorious.

So many times we try to do things in our own strength and determination. We will never be able to do things by ourselves. It takes the power of Jesus in our lives to bring us to victory. It may seem like we have the victory over something but it always comes back to haunt us. We must go to Jesus daily and sometimes hourly and ask Him to please help us scale the mountains of criticism, sarcasm and rejection from people.

There are times when someone pulls the trigger and hurts us, but there are also times when we pull the trigger and hurt someone. May God forgive us if we have been guilty of shooting barbs of rejection, unforgiveness, criticism and sarcasm into someone’s heart! Who is pulling the trigger of your heart? Is Jesus holding the gun or are you allowing satan to hold the gun? Do you have the ammunition of God’s unconditional love in your heart, or do you have the hatred of satan in your heart?
