Whose Peace

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

The world is full of violence, hatred, prejudice, greed, and disappointments. If you look at television this is what you see and hear, sex, murders, crime, cursing, and filthy suggestive sexual talk that not only leads our teenagers astray, it causes adults to have sex with someone other than their spouses.

There is no peace in this world. You may think that you have peace when you are taking drugs and drowning your problems in alcohol, but that is not peace. It is a temporary dulling of the senses. When the effects wear off, you have the same problems.

The only real Peace is in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Peace. He is the Beautiful Rose of Sharon and the Bright and Morning Star. He is the Saviour of the world. He extends to us by His Amazing Grace and Mercy, His Unconditional Love and Salvation.

This verse says that not only can we have peace in Jesus; we can have perfect peace if we focus our mind on Him. When we dwell on negative things, be it on the television, in the newspapers, or on personal problems, then our minds and hearts are in turmoil.

The world tries to tell us that we can have peace if we have material possessions. That is a lie straight from the pits of hell. All the money in the world will never buy us true peace and happiness. I urge you to turn to Jesus for He is our Peace.
