WHY DO WE DOUBT

“But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

John 20: 24, 25 King James Version

I believe that Jesus was hurt when Thomas said this to the disciples. I think that today He is still hurt when we refuse to believe and trust Him. He has proven His faithfulness to us over and over again. Yet we still doubt that He will feed and clothe us and provide for our needs. If He doesn’t answer our prayers when we think He should, then we begin to doubt Him.

There are times when we shouldn’t ask Him for anything because of the way we treat Him. We may give Him an hour of our day, but then we forget about Him and get involved in our busy schedules. If we are so busy in our daily lives that we forget about Him, then we need to change our schedules.

He did many miracles in the Bible, yet people still doubted Him. Jesus is still performing miracles today. The greatest miracle of all is when people who have never invited Jesus to be their personal Saviour asks Him to forgive them and come into their hearts and save them.

You can trust Jesus to do what He says He will do. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let’s not break His Heart by doubting His Love and faithfulness to us. If you are doubting Jesus, ask Him to forgive you.
