Pastors everywhere we go, and for continued good health. As some of you know, late in 2004 I had quintuple bypass surgery, and am slowly regaining my strength from that. In addition to still being at that time in rehab from by-pass surgery, in November of 2004, I lost my darling wife of almost 56 years, when the Lord called my sweetheart Georgia home. I miss her terribly, of course, but I am gradually recovering my strength, (I finished 72 sessions of rehab in June, 2005) and am now working regularly on enlarging our world wide gospel witness.
God is blessing our web ministry with over 100,000 hits or visits per month now, and we have had hits from 115 different country domains in the past month. We have also had many hits from the U. S. Military network and U. S. Government networks --- These would be mostly from our service men and women who are defending us and fighting the war on terror, of course.
I have am working regularly now on expanding and improving and enlargin our web operations. In the past few months we have made and added over 400 completely new pages to our gospel web. My son, James III, is helping me with the web now after his other work day is over. He and I together have completely REDESIGNED, UPDATED, and IMPROVED ABOUT 1,500 OF OUR OLDER WEB PAGES! (This is in addition to the more than 400 completely new pages we have coded and published as mentioned above). You who have surfed our web sites know, of course, that we have SEVERAL THOUSAND PAGES up and running, and have for several years.
This update is being done on August 4, 2005, and during the last few weeks we have had "hits" 115 known countries scattered around the world, plus many hits from the U. S. Military network, and thousands of other hits of "unknown origin" from "no telling where". We thank God and those of you who pray and give to this ministry, for His great blessings on our world wide witness to Biblical and Historical Truth!
OUR PRINCIPAL AIM, NOW AS ALWAYS through the whole of our more than 43 YEARS (and still counting) AS INDEPENDENT BAPTIST MISSIONARIES, (33 of those years as Africa missionaries) continues to be to bring glory to God through His Church by helping in the winning of souls to Christ, the establishment and strengthening of sound New Testament Baptist Churches, and the Training, Encouragement, and Discipling of all those who already know our Saviour. We teach regularly in the Rodgers Baptist Bible Institute, and operate a greatly blessed world wide gospel web ministry.
We desire to encourage, build up, strengthen and help in any way possible through this
"Web Ministry" and by means of our other Teaching and Preaching ministries all with whom
we come in contact, personally or through the "web". Will you join with us in this outreach
through prayers, financial support as God may lead, and also by telling your friends and
acquaintances about our web sites, addresses, etc.?
Pray that our support will grow and become adequate to support our Web publishing
and internet ministries as we report to Churches, speak at Missions Conferences and other
special services among the Churches and continue our "web building".
I am living modestly and working consistently on the "web" and on recovery from quintuple by-pass surgery. I am now working again reguarly on the web sites and writing and/or editing for web publishing good independent Baptist articles, and missions promotion materials. We have already built and now work constantly to expand our massive (We have thousands of "pages" now running on the world wide web) independent Baptist "web ministry" with its proven world wide outreach!
We regularly get over 100,000 "hits" or "visits" to our sites every month now, and it is growing steadily with more materials being added, and more visitors coming.
We plan to do some writing on Missions, especially from the Practical and Biblical viewpoints. Some of this missions material will deal with our 33 years in Africa as independent Baptist missionaries and will include many thrilling stories (and possibly photos) of God's miraculous working there --- Through arrests, snakes, terrorist ambush, land mines and all. A few "AFRICAN MISSIONS STORIES" from our 33 years in African missions are now published and running on our web site at: PRAY WITH US FOR increasing opportunities to minister to our Churches in a "Ministry of Encouragement" both in the matter of recounting God's miraculous blessings on our own 33 years in Africa to individual Churches, and in speaking at Missions Conferences, Camps, and Seminars. We are available for speaking engagements at Faith Promise Conferences, Bible Conferences, special services promoting missions or Missions Conferences, etc. NO FINANCIAL DEMANDS have been or ever will be made in the matter of ministering to our Churches, Pastors, and people! However, we do need the support of God's faithful ones. We need both financial support and prayer support. We are on a fixed nominal salary and housing allowance, set by our Home Church. We only get paid if the donations come in to our Mission Fund. Off and on through the last few years, we have been missing a lot of our nominal salary. We cannot continue indefinitely that way, as this ministry is our only means of earning a living. We DESPERATELY NEED MUCH MORE regular support for this missions work. Our regular support is well below what is necessary to sustain the minimum expenses of the work, and our own personal support. Please pray that God will lead those who are already faithfully supporting this gospel ministry to continue and increase their support, and pray also that God will lead additional Churches and Pastors to get the vision for this world wide ministry and support it regularly as part of their outreach "to regions beyond! From our "web ministry" alone we have had email or other correspondence from many states of the USA, and from more than 25 different countries scattered over the world telling of blessings received from our "web" work! SOME OF THEM ASK FOR AND RECEIVE PERMISSION TO USE VARIOUS PART OF OUR WEB MATERIALS IN THEIR OWN MINISTRIES! ALL CONTRIBUTIONS ARE DEPOSITED IN THE WORK FUND OF THIS MISSION WORK (by our Home Church) FOR THE CURRENT NEEDS IN SUSTAINING AND GROWING THIS WORK FOR THE BENEFIT OF PASTORS, CHURCHES, SCHOOLS, STUDENTS, AND MISSIONARIES, as well as laymen and women. Some materials are already being published on the "Web" and some are in preparation for publication. Everything we write or preach will be aimed solely at glorifying our Lord and the Edification of His Church, NOT at "scoring points" or stirring discord among brethren. We have no private axes to grind! Pray for us as we continue this work in which God has placed us, and for which our Home Church has given enthusiastic approval and sponsorship. We need your prayers and support NOW more than ever before, and I believe this work will reap great benefits for our independent Baptist Churches, as the Lord tarries and blesses. I BELIEVE the best is yet to come as we continue our writing, teaching, and preaching ministries, and training others for missions ministry UNTIL THE LORD COMES or calls! We Bible Believing Baptists need to publish more, in every possible format. We need books which do not just "touch the hem of the garment" on major doctrines and teachings, but rather dig deeply into the great Bible truths we believe. In our wonderful Library with which God has blessed us, we have many hundreds of volumes by old time Baptists, as well as an outstanding collection of Puritan writings (from the American, British, and Dutch writers) including almost everything of that nature which has been "findable" during the past 30 years. It includes a wide variety of detailed expository writings, both Baptistic and general in outlook, and many of the most important theologians, commentators, expositors, preachers, and missionaries are represented. We have collected primarily those which "stir our own heart" in our own Bible study, and have generally avoided most of the writers with a highly "critical" approach to writings about the Scriptures. Our home Church, the Rodgers Baptist Church, and Pastor Ron Thomas, are enthusiastically sponsoring us for this ministry as full time missionaries (just as they did for many years in Africa) and they invite sister Churches to join with their prayers and support for this work.
